Welcome Back – April News from Layston Music 🌿🎶

Dear Layston Music Families,

Welcome back! We hope you had a restful and joyful Spring break. As we begin the Summer Term, we’re looking forward to continuing your child’s musical journey with fresh energy and focus. Here’s everything you need to know for April and beyond:

No Summer Shindig This Year 🎤☀️

We’ve made the decision to no longer host a Summer Shindig. While we love celebrating student progress and community through these events, they take a huge amount of behind-the-scenes planning. We’ve decided to focus our energy on creating an even more magical Winter Shindig, which will continue as our main annual performance celebration. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.

Summer Term Teaching Dates 📅

Our Summer Term runs from Tuesday 22nd April to Monday 4th August 2025 (inclusive).

Please note the following dates when Talena is away:

• Friday 23rd May

• Wednesday 28th May

• Saturday 31st May (Talena & Paul are both away)

Lessons on those dates will not take place unless otherwise arranged.

Need to Check Lesson Dates or Payments? 🧾🎼

We’ve had a lot of enquiries recently about lesson times and calendar dates. Just a reminder that you can:

🎵 Check your full lesson calendar, download resources, view lesson notes, and access your invoices/payments anytime by logging into your MyMusicStaff portal.

🌐 You’ll also find our Lesson Calendar on the Layston Music website.

If you’ve lost your login details, just send us an email and we’ll help you reset your account.

Looking Ahead to September – Timetable Changes 🔄📚

We are beginning preparations for the new academic year, and changes are coming to our timetable in September.

🚫 There will no longer be lesson slots available before 4:30pm or after 8:30pm on weekdays due to family commitments. We’ll be opening new evening options where possible, but we really need to know who is continuing so we can plan accordingly.

📩 If you haven’t already confirmed whether your child will continue lessons in September, please do so as soon as possible. This allows us to create a fair and organised schedule for everyone.

Thank You for Being Part of the Layston Music Family 💛🎵

Whether your child is preparing for a performance, taking an exam, learning a favourite song, or simply building confidence, we’re so grateful to walk alongside them in their musical development. As always, if you have questions or want to discuss your child’s progress, just reach out.

Let’s make this term full of growth, inspiration, and joyful music-making.

Warmest wishes,

Talena Cuthbert
