Term dates reminder
Our last lessons will be on Monday, 5th August 2024. We will then be on holiday and our new term will begin on Tuesday, 27th August 2024 through to Sunday 27th October 2024.
Layston Music holiday
We’re taking a well-earned holiday from Tuesday 6th August - Monday 26th August. There will be no lessons during this time.
New team member
We’re very happy to introduce you to Kathryne Scully, who will be assisting with our admin tasks. Talena is very happy about this as it enables her to focus on her clients and doing what she loves rather than the paperwork! You will see the newsletters with Kathryne’s name at the end and she will be assisting with invoicing and lesson queries. Welcome Kathryne!
Song And Sound
Our sister company, Song And Sound, is now fully operational and is being very well received, providing a range of wellness-focused music services. These include:
Song Therapy and Music Mentoring Sessions: Tailored to enhance well-being through the power of music, in schools and private bookings.
Sound Journey (Sound Baths): Designed for relaxation and overall wellness, offering a unique and immersive experience. Weekly sessions are being held on Tuesday evenings in Royston.

Songwriting Sessions
Our weekly song writing sessions at Outside of the Box CIC in Royston town centre are going really well. These sessions are scheduled as follows:
- Under 12s: Tuesdays at 3:30 PM
- Over 12s: Tuesdays at 4:45 PM
This is a fantastic opportunity for young songwriters to develop their skills and creativity in a supportive environment. Please ask Talena for details or go to the Outside of the Box CIC website here.
Upcoming Exams
A reminder for those planning to take music exams this term, the exam date is set for Saturday, 13th July, between 1 PM and 4:30 PM. Please confirm your availability (if you haven’t already done so) for this date as soon as possible so we can make the necessary arrangements.
Winter Shindig
This will take place on Saturday 7th December. Please put a placeholder in your diary! More details will follow during the Autumn term.
Important Reminders
We are currently fully booked and, unfortunately, cannot accommodate lesson swaps to other days/times. Please remember that all lessons for each half term must be paid for in advance, regardless of attendance. Lessons must be booked off before the start of each half term to ensure proper scheduling and correct invoicing.
Terms and Conditions
Thank you to those of you who have reviewed and accepted the updated terms and conditions available on our website here . Your continuation with our lessons implies agreement to these terms, so it is essential that you understand and accept them. Please confirm your acknowledgment by responding via email or text to us. If we do not hear from you, we will assume you wish to discontinue lessons at the end of this half term.
Fee increase pre-notice
We wanted to give you plenty of advanced warning that, due to the cost of living, our fees will be increasing by £1 per lesson in April 2025. You do not need to amend standing orders or payments now, but please be aware that this will increase in April. We will contact you nearer the time with further details. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
We are excited about the term ahead and all the wonderful musical experiences we will share. Have a wonderful summer hols and see you throughout it (apart from our holiday dates!).
