Don’t wait until you’ve got someone to go with.

I know it can feel a bit awkward turning up to something on your own, especially when you don’t know anybody.

But one of the things I want Sing for Your Supper to be is somewhere people can come along, have a sing, share some food and meet others who enjoy the same things.

You don’t have to sing on your own. You don’t have to be an experienced singer. And you certainly don’t have to turn up with a ready-made group of friends.

I’ll make sure you’ve got people to sit with.

Our next night is Ultimate Power Ballads on Tuesday 3rd November at The Chequers, Barley.

One of my favourite things about teaching music isn’t actually the music itself.

It’s watching people discover what they’re capable of, finding their confidence and sharing what they’ve learnt with other people.

It’s also why we’ve ended up creating so many different things through Layston Music.

Lessons, our Shindigs, Sing for Your Supper, the Vocal Lounge, and now our Acoustic Showcase & Open Mic nights.

They’re all a little different, but the idea behind them is much the same.

Music gives people something to share and a reason to get together.

An evening dedicated to live music, discovering local talent and giving musicians of all ages and experience levels the chance to perform in a friendly, welcoming and supportive space.

Whether you're a seasoned performer, a singer-songwriter finding your feet, a young musician building confidence or someone who's always fancied giving an open mic a go, we'd love you to be part of it!
